It is expensive but Embry-Riddle has a center in San Antonio as well as all over the world.

Airlines usually want a 4 year degree of some kind, but you don’t need to go to an aviation university to become a pilot and it may be more costly to do it that way. There are plenty of flight schools at airports all over the country.
